Lose a few extra pounds along the way. Make it to the top of Mount Timpanogas and hopefully back next year. Long-Term Running Goals: Stay within 10 lbs of my husbands disgustingly low weight. Personal: I am a mother of four kids ranging in age from 15 to 3. Thus the extra weight that I need to lose. I am a military spouse who has thus lived all over the place. We have been married for 18 years. I'm a Wogger. Meaning I walk/jog. I would not call it running and I only joined the FastRunningBlog because my husband ArmyRunner made me and Sarah threatened to try and convince me also.

| | I actually jogged for 4.1 miles and then walked .9 miles along the Provo River trail. My longest continous run in my life. It was painful and slow but I did it. | |
| | 4.5 miles wogging on Provo River trail. My shins are very sore. I think I over did it yesterday. | |
| | just did a brisk 5 mile walk in order to give my shins a chance to heal. They feel much better this evening. I know I must be getting in better shape because this walk seemed quite easy. | |
| | I wogged 4 miles up in provo canyon. I took Jordan in the stroller with me. pushing an extra fifty pounds in front of me up hill wasn't easy. Down hill it was a breeze. Starting next week I get to bring him along most of the time. Yipee!!! | |
| | oops I got behind on blogging. I did 5 miles easy pace on the lower part of Provo canyon. |
| | hiked the Y trail with Jared. This work out let me know how far I have to go to be truely in shape. That trail is steep!! |
| | 2 miles in the morning walking Jared to school. It seemed a lot easier pushing the stroller up our hill than last school year but it is still not fun. 2 miles jogging . did the first mile with jared in about 10:30 minutes but it just about killed me. Once again I wonder why I am doing this to myself. I did the 2nd mile in 12:10. Ted thinks I can do a 5k next month in under 36 minutes but I am not so sure I can sustain the pace yet. |
| | 5 miles easy on the provo river trail. Pushed the stroller. Jordan gets bored on these walks. |
| | walked down to the school, jogged 2 miles and hen walked the hill by by house. Pushing the stroller up near rock canyon park is quite a work out. Either my back will get in to great shape or I'll end up in traction. |
| | walked to and from school in the morning then jogged a mile with Jared in the afternoon. After that I jogged all out as fast as I could go at the awe inspiring pace(ha, ha) of 10:08. | |
| | 5 miles at a slow wog. 15 minute miles. |
| | just took an evening stroll up the hill from my house and back down. Did a loop around windsor street. A stroll is better than nothing I suppose. | |
| | Just a mix of jogging walking near the waterfall. jordan likes to get out a run with me occasionally but he stops every time he sees anything interesting. |
| | Ran a practice 5k to start out today. Thank you sarah for watching Jordan and making this possible. I ran a 36:36. The first mile was only a 12:27 because I am really slow til I get a little warmed up. the next mile was 11:39 and the 3rd was 11:35. then I sprinted(for me) the last .1 in 55 seconds. I walked/jogged the rest after i caught my breath. Sarah said I don't need to run the race on monday because I already met my goal. My crazy husband says I should run a sub 35. ( as I said CRAZY) | |
| | I convinced my neighbor who just moved in and is getting used to the altitude to walk with me by the lake. A nice easy walk which I needed because my calves and shins were pretty tight from yesterdays work out. |
| | Yes I said 8 miles. I do not know what on earth possed me to wog 8 miles, with a stroller, ending with a mile straight up the hill to my house. Averaged just under 15 minute miles but I am paying for it now. My legs feel fine and I knew I would be tired but I never knew that my back could feel so sore and still retain the ability to walk. Stupid aren't I? I should have given myself a couple more weeks pushing the stroller on average walks before trying anything so ambitious. I am ever so grateful for painkillers!! | |
| | I only had about 50 minutes to work out while Ted was getting ready for work.( He watched Jordan so I didn't have to push the stroller.) did 14 min. miles on the hills. 2 hilly workouts in a row. I felt good this morning all things considering but this afternoon my shins and hip are sore. Too many hills I am sure. | |
| | slow and easy on the flat section of the provo trail. Hip bothers me when walking, Shins hurt when I run. Hope to feel better by monday. | |
| Race: |
payson onion days (3.1 Miles) 00:31:53 | | Sarah paced me and I obviously did a lot better than I thought I could. ran 10:05 for the first mile slowed down on the 2nd mile and picked it up for the 3rd. the only down side is I have to set a much higher standered for the next race. I have been suffering from a headache today so I have been drinking gatorade. Vile stuff. my husband suggested I drink pickle juice, then I won't think sports drinks are so vile. I deciced to pass on his suggestion. Thanks a lot sarah for pacing me but not pushing me. It was a good experience. | |
| | SLow, painful jog with the stroller. Sasha and Sarah were saying I should change my name from wogger but I proved today that I am still worthy of that title. Maybe someday in the future I can ran a 5 k with killing myself but that day is not yet here. |
| | averaged about 14 min. miles brtween provo trail near reams and the mouth of the canyon. Pretty flat terrain so I hope I didn't kill my back. My shins were feeling better this morning so I decided to put them right back in the shape they were yesterday. I must enjoy limping around the house. Oh well as my husband says if your legs don't hurt you're not pushing very hard. I just hope this will aventually be worth it. I have stalled out on weight loss for the past 3 weeks. I suppose that is what is behind my insane pushing it hard. | |
| | I was having one of those days. You know, the why do I bother and do I really care if I work out days. I forced myself to do a recovery walk on the trail. I might have gone further on my stroll but I was not highly motivated and I really needed to go wee. There are no bathrooms on that part of the trail and I am not the kind of girl who crawls through the brush to find a secluded spot. |
| | Started out from Rock Canyon school and went to Riverwoods along University avenue and back to the school. Jogged most of the way. Had to walk a little 3 times. Averaged just under 13 minute miles. Not too shabby for pushing a stroller. The last mile is slightly up hill and I had to push myself to not let up the pace. | |
| | Jogged 6 miles on the trail without stopping. Despite not having the stroller today the best I could do was about 13:10 average. I guess I pushed it too hard yesterday and had no real speed left. I was just glad that I didn't have to walk. Armyrunner past me on the trail going well over twice as fast and well over twice as far. Oh well if I think about haw well the rest of my family runs I'd never set foot on the trail again but I keep telling myself that I am doing this so I can feel better about myself and so I can hike timpanogos(I really need to learn how to spell that) next year without killing myself. | |
| | easy walk with a neighbor by the waterfall. even took a break at vivian park to let our boys play at the playground. It is beautiful up there with the leaves starting to change but it was also cold with the wind howling down the canyon. |
| | Jogged the loop from the school. Pushed it hard from the start and averaged 12 min miles with the stroller. I will be paying for this the rest of the week. | |
| | My legs weren't too sore today they just felt like they weighed 100 pounds each. Forced myself to walk/jog over 5 miles near my house. Jogged for about 2 miles at a slow creaky 15 min pace. Oh well lead in the legs is better than shin splints and asore hip so no real complaints. |
| | walked about a mile. Jogged a little over 4 miles and wogged the last little bit along the flat part of the trail. Not too hard not too easy. Had to try to conserve some energy. I am training with sarah tommorow. hope I can keep up with her on a slow run. (slow for her that is) | |
| | 5 miles with sarah in just under an hour. It was nice to have someone to talk to for a change. It was also nice not pushing the stroller. |
| | decided to return a video to blockbuster by wogging ot down the hill. the bad part was I had to come back up. I did the last .7 miles up the steep part jogging in less than 11 minutes. |
| | started by the school. Felt pretty tired. Forced myself to do 8 miles because I haven't done so for a while. Jogged over 7 miles of it but the best I could manage was 13 something a mile top speed. Averaged just under 15 min miles. | |
| | 4 mile recovery wog on the trail. Slow slow slow. |
| | Decided to do a mile slow then a mile fast ect... see if I could do some race pace miles. 1st mile in 13:15 2nd mile in 9:41 which is a personal best 3rd mile in 12:42 4th mile in 9:55 5th mile in 11:18 6th mile in 9:52 I can't run sub 10 minute miles back to back yet but not too bad. Had to push hard to do these times might wait a while before I try this again. Rewarded myself with going out to lunch with Sarah.

| | After a terrible morning trying to get the kids to school when everything was going wrong I had zero desire to go for a walk but I went anyway. That's all I did too, I walked through some neighborhoods I 've never seen before and checked them out. I enjoy neighborhood walking every once in a while. | |
| | I'm catching up with my blogging so my husband will stop nagging me. Came down with a terrible cold. tried running to hopefully clear out some of this illness. felt a little better while running then started sneezing my head off as soon as I stopped. Ran tempview during Jared's soccer practice. | |
| | Felt dead, looked dead did not want to die so skipped the run today. |
| | Still have this beastly cold so I skipped going out in the cold and did the eliptical. boring and kind of hard on my calves. | |
| | Walked when Ted came home for lunch. Did the temple foothills loop. Ran a couple of 11:20 miles in the middle right before hitting that monster hill. Walked up it without stopping which is quite a achievement. |
| | On the provo river trail. still congested and fighting a lack of energy. It was just a go and do it day. |
| | Another just go and do it day. I can't wait to be over this stupid cold. | |
| | Wentthe whole length of tempview and came back on canyon road. Jogged for most of it, still not a lot of energy. |
| | jogged during jareds soccer game. Felt a little better today and put in a couple of 11 min miles. |
| | just went to the school today and came home the long way past the temple. Walked with the neighbors across the street. Did not have a watch so distance is just a guess. |
| | walked down to the school di the six mile loop and then walked back up the hill. Jogged about 6.5 mile total. Felt pretty energetic today for the 1st time in 2 weeks. |
| | jogged about 3.5 miles and walked the rest. Felt pretty good despite yesterdays hard work out. |
| | Was plannning on walking in the afternoon but my husbands rollover car accident stopped those plans. Luckily he walked away with sore muscles bruises and abrasions. Scared me though. I was in a car that rolled when I was a teenager. It was an experiance I would never wish on anybody. | |
| | I have discovered a distessing tendency for my to want to skip exercise if I have something the prevents me from going right after the kids leave for school. Today I made myself go for a walk in the early evening in the hills. Brisk walk pace but after a while I at least started to enjoy myself. |
| | Here Ted I am catching up on my blog are you happy now? I went to the school and up tempview and down canyon road. mostly walking. |
| | On the eliptical. Jordan did not want to go for a walk today and I did not feel like forcing him. Had a good workout. Worked up a real sweat. Eliptical is not as easy as I thought it would be. I work hard for slower miles. |
| | 5 mile jogging in just under an hour. Did at least 1 10:15 mile. Never felt relaxed forced myself the whole way. 3 mile hike to and from temp caves. Had Jordan on my back about half the way down. killer on the knees. |
| | 3 miles slow jog on my own and 1 mile with sarah. sore from yesterdays hike but it is a good kind of sore. |
| | hiked up rock canyon. Beautiful this time of year. Slow going over rough terrain but I am glad I did it. 2.25 miles up is the furthest I have ever been up there. | |
| | 4.3 as a fast walk. Stroller tire was pretty flat so I didn't run. in the afternoon I warmed up a little and then ran flat out for a mile with ted and the boys. Started out too fast so I got a cramp the last 1/4 mile but managed to do a 8:54 mile. about 45 seconds faster than any I have done before. I am glad I don't run all out like that often it's a killer. |
| | An easy wog from the kids school. Normaly a 6 mile loop but ended early because of an approaching storm. averaged between 13:20 and 14:30 a mile. I know that I can go faste some times but only for a while. My husband says that with the fast mile I put in yesterday I have to say I am a runner but I don't think I am there yet. I think maybe I can call myself a fast, slow person. | |
| | Not very motivated today. went on the eliptical for an hour. I acctually like the eliptical every once in a while I just wouldn't want to do it every day. |
| | not much to say. Just a run of the mill at least I am out here work out. My right foot hurt because I jammed a toe it the joint yesterday. (I have done this before, I am a genius when it comes to navigating furniture in the dark.) down hill hurt the worst. took it easy to avoid hurting it more. will take tommorow off to give it a chance to heal. |
| | ran the whole way with the stroller. good for me!! |
| | jogged down to school and walked jogged around some neighborhoods. jogged about 3.5 |
| | ran it in about 42 minutes. How awesome is that!! | |
| | do not remember. that is what I get for getting behind on my blog |
| | busy day only did some school walking |
| | ran 4 miles and then walked a mile up the hill. Went about 42 minutes for the mile again. |
| | another busy day. only found time to walk to school and back. |
| | The big loop from the school. Jogged just a litttle. Last week I think I over did it. I don't have a lot of running energy and my shins are once again killing me. Oh the joys of getting into shape. | |
| | I will try to write on the blog all week if for no other reason than to keep my husband frim nagging me to do it. I have not been a very motivated exerciser lately. Between school and the cold it's hard to do it in the morning and I tell myself I will run later and then other things come up. I ran on the track today in about 46 minutes including 1 mile in about 9:30. | |
| |
on the eliptical. Busy day. Got on in the evening for my minimum daily allowance of exercise. I also did about 2 hours of yard work which I certainly count as exercise.
|
| | Again on the eliptical. Ted says it's a bad happit and I need to not give up running but I figure it's better than nothing. I'll get outside to run a few times a week.( I hope) | |
