Running Accomplishments:

Completed a half marathon (mostly walking).

Short-Term Running Goals:

Jog a 5k in under 37 minutes. Lose a few extra pounds along the way. Make it to the top of Mount Timpanogas and hopefully back next year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay within 10 lbs of my husbands disgustingly low weight.

Personal:

I am a mother of four kids ranging in age from 15 to 3. Thus the extra weight that I need to lose. I am a military spouse who has thus lived all over the place. We have been married for 18 years.

I'm a Wogger. Meaning I walk/jog. I would not call it running and I only joined the FastRunningBlog because my husband ArmyRunner made me and Sarah threatened to try and convince me also.

Jogged 6 miles on the trail without stopping.  Despite not having the stroller today the best I could do was about 13:10 average.  I guess I pushed it too hard yesterday and had no real speed left.  I was just glad that I didn't have to walk.  Armyrunner past me on the trail going well over twice as fast and well over twice as far.  Oh well if I think about haw well the rest of my family runs I'd never set foot on the trail again but I keep telling myself that I am doing this so I can feel better about myself and so I can hike timpanogos(I really need to learn how to spell that) next year without killing myself.

I told Sasha this morning that I thought between child bearing and raising I was tougher than him...then for good measure I added that you and I were tougher than he and Ted....you should have seen the look he gave me...too bad I didn't have a camera because that look was worth a million( laughs...dollars...something)

Elizabeth: As I told you, your form looked really good. I think you have some potential in running, I would not be surprised to see you run 23:00 5 K in a year or two. Some things will have to change and improve, but they usually and naturally do if you persist. You can ask Sarah - I do not give empty compliments, I state good things when I see them. And I do have an eye for discerning running talent. I saw Nick Miller in the fall of 2005 in Boulder, and my eye told me he could be good enough to run for college if he trained right. Back then he was a recreational runner. Now he made the CU team, the fastest college team in the nation. For some inspiration, and reasons to run, read this - Paul had some very good thoughts.
