Running Accomplishments:

Completed a half marathon (mostly walking).

Short-Term Running Goals:

Jog a 5k in under 37 minutes. Lose a few extra pounds along the way. Make it to the top of Mount Timpanogas and hopefully back next year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay within 10 lbs of my husbands disgustingly low weight.

Personal:

I am a mother of four kids ranging in age from 15 to 3. Thus the extra weight that I need to lose. I am a military spouse who has thus lived all over the place. We have been married for 18 years.

I'm a Wogger. Meaning I walk/jog. I would not call it running and I only joined the FastRunningBlog because my husband ArmyRunner made me and Sarah threatened to try and convince me also.

walked to and from school in the morning then jogged a mile with Jared in the afternoon.  After that I jogged all out as fast as I could go at the awe inspiring pace(ha, ha) of 10:08.

I think 10 min. pace is great! 10 min. pace is where the people who are jogging "just for fitness" stop and the people who are going for speed begin. If you ever get a chance to run on a really crowded path, you will pass all sorts of people going 10 min. pace. Not our super-athletic husbands, of course, but other more average human beings, yes.

I'm with Lybi...10 minute pace is a very respectable time for a woman...I'm impressed....good work.

For a confidence builder, go to the Provo River Trail, find four triangles (Ted can explain in detail how those work), and try an all out mile, see by how much you can break 10:00, and try not to have any 200s slower than 1:15. Have James or Ted pace you. If you succeed, this would leave Jessica and Jordan in the minority - you will have 3 sub-10:00 milers in the family vs 2 who have not done it. Jordan will not be there long, and hopefully Jessica will catch the bug too.
